Both cups were sold twice.
This photograph was taken prior to the export of all three cups, as an investment to a UK buyer. Incredibly this was agreed to by the ‘Movable Cultural Heritage Authority’ then responsible for caretaking our national heritage.
Recently, the Steiner Gold Cup was generously gifted to the National Gallery Canberra, by the art dealer, Denis Savill.
