One of a pair of Cavendish soup tureens on stands by Paul Storr, London 1807

Sold to H. E. Mahdi al Tajir repurchased via Christies and Koopmans now in a private collection in Asia.

The Devonshire supporters are depicted in the stags head side handles, with the family crest as the handle to the lid. The use of these very sophisticated stands at this period by Rundell’s silversmiths makes these objects complete and so much more desirable.
